The Raritan Township Fire Company is located in Hunterdon County NJ, was founded in 1958 and is 100% volunteer. It currently operates out of three firehouses and is responsible for the 38 square miles surrounding the borough of Flemington, including the life and property of over 25,000 residents. On average, the fire company responds to 600 yearly calls and participates in many community events.

21 Fire Retires Special Service 21-2

Special Service 21-2 has officially been retired from the 21 Fire fleet. The 1994 Ford Braun has seen an exciting life starting as an ambulance for the Flemington-Raritan First Aid & Rescue Squad then becoming a fire police response vehicle with the Raritan Township Fire Company. This vehicle has been all over as well as out of the township when responding to various calls. The ability to carry barricades, cones, flares, etc... to scenes where traffic control is essential has kept our crews safe over the years. The vehicle was sold to a member of the department and awaits its next chapter in life.

R.T.F.C. Orders New Engine!

The fire company has recently put in an order for a brand new Pierce Arrow XT Pumper. This new engine will have a very similar design to Engine 21. This rig will carry 2,000 gallons of water to ensure water is nearby to areas with or without fire hydrants in the event of a fire. We are expected to take delivery of this new engine in the later part of 2021. If you have any questions regarding the new apparatus, please feel free to reach out to us on Facebook.

Probationary to Firefighter

Congratulations to Christian Callahan on receiving his NJ Firefighter 1 Certification. Christian has been with the department since 2016 as a junior and then probationary member. He has proven to be a dedicated member, helping out in any way he can. While working, going to school, and completing his FF1, he has been working hard to get his EMT as well. We are proud to welcome this new firefighter to the team.
