The Raritan Township Fire Company is located in Hunterdon County NJ, was founded in 1958 and is 100% volunteer. It currently operates out of three firehouses and is responsible for the 38 square miles surrounding the borough of Flemington, including the life and property of over 25,000 residents. On average, the fire company responds to 600 yearly calls and participates in many community events.

It is a highly trained fire company, approximately 40 members strong, which provides mutual aid and responds to emergencies with multiple organizations throughout the county, including Flemington, ThreeBridges. Readington, Annandale, Sergeantsville, Amwell Valley, West Amwell, and Quakertown and the rescue squads of Flemington-Raritan and Amwell Valley. It also operates one of seven county-wide FAST/RITs.

We are one of the Rapid Intervention Crews that serve Hunterdon County fire departments. Rapid Intervention Crews or RICs, respond on all structural fires. The mission of a RIC is to standby on the fire ground to provide immediate assistance or rescue of a firefighter(s) that may become injured, trapped, disoriented or become involved in a multitude of other emergencies while operating at a fire scene. RICs also carry additional equipment specific to firefighter assistance and rescue. Currently, the RTFC has 15 certified RIC members. The RTFC serves as the primary RIC for twelve Fire Departments in Hunterdon and Somerset Counties.
